Twyla is a new internet service that wants to change the way people use Twitter and, ultimately, make Twitter more attractive to the average Internet user. This will increase Twitter’s ability to reach more people. Right now, most Americans do not even have an account, since they do not comprehend exactly how twitter works or how it might be incorporated into their life in the same way that they may have incorporated a blog or Facebook.

Twitter can Confuse the Common Joe

The general public is sufficiently Internet-savvy enough to understand the way a website or a blog works. This has allowed most people to use Facebook comfortably. They expect to see something presented in an organized, visual fashion. Twitter’s arrangement of extremely short messages sometimes mystifies or frustrates potential users. If you have many followers, it can be hard to follow the train of thought in some of the listed tweets, since their last tweet may have been pertinent to the one presently viewed but it was long ago lost to view due to the constant influx of new tweets.

Twyla Offers a Solution

Twylah essentially wants to turn all of a person’s tweets, as well as their other social media interactions, into a single web page that can present a clearer picture of what the individual using Twitter is really trying to say.  This Twitter-based tool helps people turn all their social media outlets into a blog. It also introduces them to Twitter if they have not already acquired an account.

For the person already using Twitter, Twyla adds permanence to tweets. Each tweet is branded with a topic and the user’s Twyla page organizes them into separate pages, so that trains of thought and personal views can be presented in a coherent fashion. However, this is not simply a blog which allows the user to organize web pages and links into pages made accessible by separate tabs. Twyla actually responds to a person’s changing topics by rearranging the tabs on a page according to those changes. It also reassembles tweets that are made in response.

Twyla Connects the Dots

Twyla essentially connects the dots and turns a series of apparently disjointed messages into a coherent picture of the person who is tweeting. This new service has also introduced the power tweet. This innovative tool allows the Twyla user to leave a link to something that he or she finds interesting, such as a news article, a photo or a video. The difference between Twyla’s power tweet and other methods of posting a link becomes apparent when the interested follower clicks on the link and is taken to a unique landing page with the video or other item embedded in a Twyla page that surrounds the item with related tweets and puts it in the context of statements and remarks that the Twyla user has made about similar topics previously. One thing accomplished by this arrangement is the extension of viewing time for a tweet. Since tweets are very short they do not get as much attention from followers as the writer may have wished. A power tweet can extend the amount of time a follower devotes to a tweet by a few minutes, which is virtually an eternity on the Internet.

At the moment, Twyla is in closed-beta format. It only accepts invited users. However, their web page and some of the examples already in existence make clear just how this new service will help people present their messages in cyberspace.

Developing Your Own Brand

Twyla makes it easier for people to develop and present themselves as a meaningful brand. This is not just an alternative to blogging, which allows bloggers to organize their material and present it in any way that they see fit. This Twitter-based service goes one step beyond that and organizes topics for you. Blog maintenance is a time-consuming task that many bloggers hate because it takes away from the time that they want to use creating content. Twyla takes care of the organization and maintenance and lets the user worry about content.

Search Engine Optimization

Something that many bloggers have yet to catch onto is the need for particular uses of language that attracts search engines and helps put web pages high in the page rankings of any related search result. Known as search engine optimization, these techniques are built into the Twyla service. The arrangement of tweets and other social media will have a listing on search engine directories and constantly struggle to reach the first page of search results.

Increased Value Of Tweets

Each tweet will no longer be lost amid thousands of others on followers’ twitter pages. Instead, each tweet made through Twyla will direct followers to a unique web page filled with all the relevant tweets from the same person. This will allow past tweets to maintain their importance and coherence.
